OATI and Solutran honored with 2017 NAIOP Minnesota Awards of Excellence

Pope Architects is honored to have been involved with two projects selected for the 34th Annual NAIOP Minnesota Awards of Excellence program.

The NAIOP Minnesota Awards of Excellence celebrates commercial real estate in Minnesota by selecting exceptional developments in diverse industries. Judges toured projects and evaluated them for project development, architectural integrity, market feasibility, sustainable attributes and overall success. The awards ceremony was held on September 28, 2017.

OATI Microgrid Technology Center

[ SUBURBAN OFFICE MULTI-TENANT ]

The OATI Microgrid Technology Center is a showcase for Open Access Technology International’s technology and services. The Minneapolis-based company provides cloud-based software applications for the energy industry. The new 5-story 110,000 sq. ft. multi-tenant office building and data center is designed to be nearly self-sustainable as a “Net-Zero” building. The integration of solar arrays, wind turbines, and battery storage work to generate on-site electricity and uninterrupted power. OATI occupies the first two floors, and the remaining three floors are dedicated to additional tenants, totaling 55,000 sq. ft. The building includes a 9,000 sq. ft. training center and a fitness center.

Solutran

[ OFFICE BUILD-TO-SUIT ]

Solutran, a family-owned financial services technology company, developed a new headquarters facility in Plymouth to accommodate the company’s growth and create a highly-engaging workplace for its employees. The design balances the desire for a modern and open work environment with the security and confidentiality requirements of the financial sector. The building incorporates both indoor and outdoor work spaces, a variety of formal and informal work spaces, and flexibility for future expansion as their business model continues to evolve and grows over time. The new two-story 29,000 sq. ft. facility enhances the existing context of its office/industrial neighborhood.
