Pope Architects teamed with Presbyterian Homes & Services, Senior Housing Partners and Maranatha Care Center to explore opportunities for total replacement of the 1950s nursing home in Brooklyn Center. Pope assisted Maranatha with a successful moratorium exception in 2008.
Following the approval, the team master planned a phased repositioning to create a continuum of care campus. Phase 1, a new 97-bed Skilled Care building opened in 2013, replacing the former nursing home and assisted living apartments.
Phase 2 is a new 34-unit, 3-story independent living building, Maranatha Terrace Senior Apartments, opening in Summer 2017.
