Presbyterian Homes unveils plans for Hudson Senior Living campus

Monday, April 14th, 2014

Presbyterian Homes is planning a new senior living facility adjacent to the Hudson Hospital campus in Hudson, Wisconsin. The new 160-unit facility integrates senior living services with medical care.

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal featured the project announcement. The new facility will include a medical suite for DaVita dialysis clinics – providing medical services on site for residents.

Pope Architects has been working with Presbyterian Homes, Hudson Hospital & Clinics and DaVita on the collaborative project. The design compliments the color and material palette of the existing hospital facilities, as well as the surrounding natural landscape. The design incorporates porches, balconies, and trellis features to create a residential character for the new senior complex.

The Hudson Star Observer included an excerpt from Planning Commission information. The new Hudson Senior Living facility “offers opportunities to explore new ways of collaborating on care and transitions between acute, sub-acute and long-term care that would not be possible without a shared campus concept.”

The Hudson Star Observer also reported the project’s successful approval on April 10, 2014.  Hudson’s Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit for the Hudson Senior Living project. Pamela Belz, project developer with Senior Housing Partners, a subsidiary of Presbyterian Homes, described that the senior campus would be “snuggled up against the wooded slope”, and that the building will feature materials that blend with the natural area.
